KINO PACIFIC

KINO PACIFIC
Tuesday May 13th 2025 Tuesday May 27th 2025

We’ll transform Pacific to a cosy cinema for the night (recap of our previous edition ;)). Kino, from the Greek kinesis meaning ‘movement,’ refers to films known for artistic, high-quality visuals. Often used by film lovers and younger generations to describe cinema at its finest. Tickets are including popcorn!

On Tuesday, May 13, we’re screening No Other Land (2024)!
A Palestinian activist. An Israeli journalist. One camera.
No Other Land (2024) is a powerful documentary where personal stories and political resistance collide. The film follows Basel Adra as he risks his life documenting violence and evictions in Masafer Yatta – a Palestinian region under constant threat from Israeli authorities aiming to erase entire villages.

Co-directed with Yuval Abraham – from the opposite side of the conflict – the result is a raw, rare portrait of solidarity and resistance. The film premiered at Berlinale 2024 and won the Audience Award for Best Documentary.

On Tuesday, May 27, we’re screening Memoir of a Snail (2024)!
A snail. Solitude. And a handwritten diary.
Memoir of a Snail (2024) is a stop-motion gem by the creators of Mary and Max – this time telling the bittersweet story of Grace Puddle. She lives in isolation, collects stamps, and tries to make sense of a world that feels too loud, too fast.

Directed by Adam Elliot, the film brings his signature dark humor and tragic warmth. It’s a love letter to loners and oddballs. Winner of the Crystal for Best Feature at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2024.
